Welcome to the Hurrican City Previews blog.  Here I will publishing excerpts from a book I am writing called Hurricane City (duh).  For anyone who happens to read this I look forward to any feedback and positive/negative criticism you may have.

To preface (and possible disclaimer) this story will be loosely based on the Bubblegum Crisis (BGC) manga and anime first developed in 1987.  I grew up loving all the anime from the 70s, 80s, and 90s but there was something that was truly unique about BGC that caught my attention, held my attention, and still intrigues me to this day.  There was no excessive fan service, minus a few select sequences, despite this being an anime centered around 4 women and, to some extent, this was an anime that give me one of those "oh damn this could really happen in the future" feelings.  But most importantly the music was to infectious that not only was videos released specifically for the music and the music videos created but it made music stars and idols out of the the main voice actors.  To this day I still get chills when I hear "Konya wa hurricane".

I had to lead with that preface because the story may seem to parallel the OAVs that were released almost 30 years ago but what I thought to do was to extrapolate the stories and the histories of the characters that were never presented through the OAVs.  I have not read the manga nor viewed any of the other videos such as Bubblegum Crash or A.D. Police Files so if any of the stories I am creating are described through those stories, a shout out would be appreciated.  I intend to keep some of the general story structure the same, such as heroines motivated to become protective vigilantes, the idea of the Boomers, A police force, a theme of Technology vs. Humanity.  The one place I intend to dissect in greater detail is the lives of each character and what makes them tick.

I also want to state that I have not ever written a story, well outside of maybe those homework assignments as a youth, so I hope this goes well.

Well enough of the preface-ing.  On with the story.
